Monetize Your GameBeginnerA private server charges monthly and leaves the game open; paid access charges once and closes the door. The two do not coexist — and changing the private server price cancels every active subscription at once.
Lua ScriptingBeginnerA ModuleScript is how you reuse code in Roblox. The rule that explains half the hard bugs: require runs the module only once and always returns the same reference — and on the client and the server, one for each side.
Lua ScriptingBeginnerThe built-in Roblox leaderboard has three tabs and two different data sources. The Here tab comes from a folder called leaderstats — and its name, in lowercase, is the difference between working and showing nothing at all.
UGC & ItemsBeginner3D accessories and clothing reach the Marketplace in two stages, Studio and publishing. The sentence that changes everything sits in the middle of the documentation: you cannot update or edit the asset and the thumbnail after submitting.
Monetize Your GameIntermediateA subscription charges monthly and the benefit depends on the payment continuing. The restriction that kills most plans designed on paper is that it is single-tier: mutually exclusive plans do not exist on the platform.
Roblox AnimationIntermediateA step that makes a noise before the foot touches the ground is the symptom of a sound fired by a timer. An event marker on the timeline fixes that, and its parameter turns one marker into many.
DevEx & BusinessBeginnerNot every Robux in your account can become money. This guide separates what the documentation calls earned Robux from what it excludes, shows the official rates, and explains the queue rule that makes the old balance go out first, at the old rate.
Lua ScriptingIntermediateThe official DataStore best practices fit into four decisions: few stores, one key per player, an in-memory copy saved on an interval, and UpdateAsync instead of SetAsync. This guide explains the reason for each and what breaks without them.
UGC & ItemsBeginnerPublishing on the Marketplace has two different costs and most people only know one. An 80 Robux upload fee, a publishing advance that varies by item type — from 10 to 2500 Robux — and a rebate that returns the advance sale by sale.
Monetize Your GameBeginnerA developer product is what the player buys more than once. Creating one takes five minutes; what decides whether you deliver or lose the purchase is ProcessReceipt, and it has a response rule almost everybody discovers late.
Lua ScriptingIntermediateEvery piece of data the client sends has to be validated on the server. This guide walks the four layers the official documentation describes, with the case of NaN, which is of type number and still escapes any comparison.
Roblox AnimationBeginnerAnimating in Roblox is two things in two places: drawing the movement in the Animation Editor and telling it to play from a script. This guide walks both, with the Add Keyframe Here detail that ruins timelines and the case of the rig with no Humanoid.
Roblox AnimationIntermediateYour rig spins the arm around the torso, stretches the leg to the other side of the map or freezes in a T-pose while the animation plays smoothly in the Animation Editor. The defect is almost never in the animation: it is in the Motor6D of the rig sitting in the Workspace, and you can point at the guilty joint in two seconds.
Monetize Your GameBeginnerA pass charges once for a permanent privilege. This guide covers the right order to create one, the price limits, why the privilege is not automatic, and what the official documentation marked for 30 May 2026.
Lua ScriptingBeginnerYour group changed owner and the Robux balance vanished without anyone discovering your password. The theft comes in through a stolen session, a backdoor in a free model or a role with permission to spend funds — and you can close all three doors in an afternoon.
Lua ScriptingAdvancedYour player leaves the game at shutdown and comes back with the progress of ten minutes ago. The fix is three pieces together: an authoritative in-memory cache, a session lock through UpdateAsync, and a parallel flush with a barrier inside BindToClose.
Lua ScriptingBeginnerYou have eight .rbxl files saved, twelve ideas in a notes app and no published game. The fix is to stop looking for an idea, pick a verb and close a playable 60-second loop before you touch the map.
UGC & ItemsBeginnerYou uploaded (or want to upload) an accessory and you are not sure whether you have to put it on sale to wear it on your avatar. You do not: "on sale" is a separate button, and before that you can wear the item for free inside Studio.
Roblox AnimationIntermediateYour avatar shows up white in Blender, the pose snaps back to T every time you rotate an arm, and the render looks like wet plastic. Assemble and pose the rig inside Studio through the Motor6D C0s, export it already frozen, and leave Blender only the light, the camera and the noise.
Roblox AnimationIntermediateYou applied Decals to every face of your Studio-built character and the pattern came out squashed — then it vanished entirely the moment the model became a skinned mesh. Move the model to a MeshPart with a single 1024x1024 atlas and a SurfaceAppearance, so the texture follows the UV instead of a bounding box that no longer exists.
Roblox AnimationBeginnerYou dragged Reflectance from 0 to 1 expecting the room to show up on your sphere and got clouds instead. Roblox reflects the skybox, not your map — here are the three layers that get you close to a Blender render, including a script that mirrors your scenery under the floor.
Lua ScriptingBeginnerYou watched 60 videos, you know what a variable is, and the blank Studio screen still wins every time you open an empty place. Swap the playlist for a 12-week plan of six blocks with deliverables, plus a coin script you type by hand instead of pasting.
DevEx & BusinessIntermediateYou delivered the system, the client said he'd test it tonight and never came back — and there is no ticket that gets your Robux back. Split the price into three gamepasses in your own place and hand over the source file only after the last payment clears.
Roblox AnimationIntermediateYou import your animated FBX and the character shows up frozen, so you conclude Studio can't read animation from Blender without a plugin. It can — through the Animation Editor's own FBX importer, as long as the rig carries the canonical R15 names and the action is baked before it leaves Blender.
